Platypus visits The Netherlands to pilot and showcase

June 19-21 saw a visit of our US partner Platypus to The Netherlands. Not all pleasure, even though the weather was really nice and much of the work to be done is outside….

Monday 19 we were exhibiting and demonstrating the whole day at the annual event of Innovation Quarter, the Zuid Holland investment agency. It was a bit like playing with a speedboat in a bathtub, but it was fun and we got quite some interest there.

The next 2 days were more serious: we executed a pilot for the Hoogheemraadschap Delfland, under very various circumstances from open water to small ditches, measuring in real-time whatever they needed to know for water quality and pollutants. The autonomous boats performed flawlessly, with the airboat being able to navigate very shallow ditches with no problems

We can already say that this was a huge success and that this will almost certainly get into a full commercial follow-up. So well done and thanks to the guys from Pittsburgh and Jason who flew in from Verona with the boats!
